Gua sha (pronounced gwah-shah) is an ancient Chinese practice that aims to improve facial circulation to move blocked energy, relieve puffiness, and stimulate the lymphatic system for clear and glowing skin.
Over time, regular gua sha use can also work to contour your face by lifting facial muscles.
Our natural stone gua sha tools are made from ethically mined, repurposed jade coloured stone, rose quartz and purple amethyst.

We get our gua sha supplied from a small Chinese factory with a direct family connection to Vancouver. They repurpose natural stone leftover from bigger projects, so slight colour differences, small flaws, and fissures in these hand carved stones are considered to be natural imperfections that add character and intention to each piece.
USAGE TIPS
The stone is fragile, so please be careful not to drop it on a hard surface as it may shatter! Make sure to use a light and gentle touch while holding the tool.
Use the different curves of the gua sha for different areas of your face: wide flat edge for the forehead, small curve for the eye sockets and nose, and round curve for the cheeks and jaw.
Always glide the tool gently up and out, starting from the areas at the top of your face to the bottom, around three strokes per area.
Never tug roughly at your skin.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The "jade" stone that we carry is natural and real stone but not true "jewellery grade" semi-precious jade. This is because jade mining is most often not ethical, being almost exclusively mined in Myanmar and contributing to human rights abuses. It's not necessary for a beauty tool to be made of jade – real stone works just as well!
